A period crime thriller with supernatural overtones based on actual historical events that takes place in the Barcelona of the early 20th century.  A city gripped by mass psychosis, as child after child is kidnapped off the streets by the mysterious “Sacamantecas” who acts with apparent impunity.

Gregor, a visionary English engineer arrives to Barcelona with his family is to discover that Enriqueta, an enigmatic, ravishing Catalan woman who plays the seductive socialite with a sideline in beauty products is the kidnapper. He’ll pay dearly for this.  Gregor´s wife dies and his young daughter is kidnapped. Forcibly enrolled in the Spanish colonial army in Morocco, Gregor is given up for dead and will make it back to Barcelona, desperate to find his missing daughter and eager to bring Enriqueta down.

A revolving story around a manipulative and magnetic woman who leaves grief and desolation in her wake – she leads a charmed life under the tacit protection of a ruling class rife. Or are her fiendish criminal skills and strange impunity due to something else? Intrigue and treason aplenty, in a city transfixed by the most fantastic rumours.
